Why I Don’t Mind Being Defined by Thyroid Disease

Hypothyroidism. Hashimoto’s ThyroiditisChronic Fatigue Syndrome. Anxiety Disorder. Adrenal FatigueDepression. All conditions I currently have or, in the case of depression, have had at previous times in my life (depression comes in and out of my life as it pleases).

People tell me however, not to let these conditions, physical and mental, define me.

But why? They do define part of who I am and what my life has become and I’m OK with that.
